Australia's Business Skills Category aims to attract people with a record of business or investment activity who are committed to using their business and/ or investment skills in Australia. Business owners, senior managers, senior executives and investors are eligible to apply.

Generally, the business skills category enters on a 4 year provisional visa and after satisfactory evidence of a specified level of business or investment activity, they may apply for permanent residence. State/ Territory sponsorship is available for each visa category.

State/Territory Sponsored Investor(Provisional) & Investor Provisional Category.
For this category you will need to evidence the following

• Evidence of 3 years experience or direct involvement in managing one or more a qualifying businesses or eligible investments
• Sufficient funds to transfer to Australia for the conduct or establishment of a business in Australia
• Evidence of sufficient funds for the 2 financial years before the application is made
• Evidence of recent ownership interest of 10% of the total value of the business or direct involvement in managing funds (amounts vary with visa category)
• You have demonstrated a high level of management skill in relation to an eligible investment or qualifying business activity
• A designated investment to treasury will be required on the visa decision
