This Australian Holiday Visa is usually valid for either 3 or 6 months. Once the visa is issued, you have up to 12 months to arrive in Australia.
If you are under 70 years of age, you will not be requested to do a medical unless you indicate that you have a condition.
Applicants over 70 years of age (Visitor Visa Medical Certificate 70-85) will need to undergo a 'Fitness to Travel' examination. You will also need to have health insurance.

This holiday visa is only valid for travel and tourism purposes in Australia. You are not entitled to work in Australia. You are not allowed to study for more than 3 months.

The 6 month visa generally takes 1-2 weeks to organise however like with all visas its advisable to wait until your visa has been organised before you bok your flights. In any event Visa First will proicess all visas with immediate effect.
The required minimum of funds that you must have at least AUD6 900 – which is at about £4 000 or €4 500. If the child is travelling with you it will be good if you have at least half of the required funds for him/her.
In order to apply for a 12-month tourist visa to Australia you will have to complete the application form, provide us with a copy of your passport and a copy of a bank statement showing that you have enough funds to support your stay in the country (we're advising our applicants when applying for 6-month tourist visa to have at least AU$ 6900 so I'd suggest to have as much funds as possible in order to get the visa granted for longer period); you will also need to provide information on your employment status; provide details on the purpose of your visit to Australia; you will need to give information for your contacts in Australia (if any) and you will need to present an Itinerary on the places you need to visit and the approximate dates.
