Am I eligible for an Australia Entertainment Visa (Subclass 420)?
 
The requirements for eligibility for the Australian Entertainment Visa depend on your intended role in the entertainment industry in Australia.

Performer in a Film or Television Production
You may be eligible for this Australian visa if you are required as a performer in one or more specific engagements (other than non–commercial cultural or educational engagements) in a film or television production in Australia. You must be coming to Australia to perform in a leading, major supporting or cameo role, or to meet the ethnic or other special requirements of the production. You will need to be sponsored by an Australian person or organisation.

Performer not in Film or Television
You may be eligible for an Australia Entertainer Visa if you are performing in one or more engagements in Australia (other than non-commercial cultural or educational engagements) that do not relate to a film or television production, for example a live production. You will need to be sponsored by an Australian person or organisation.

Supporting an Entertainer or Group of Entertainers
If you are supporting an entertainer or group of entertainers (whether by assisting their performance or by providing personal services) in one or more performances in Australia, you may be eligible for this visa. You will need to be sponsored by an Australian person or organisation.

Directors and Producers
You may be eligible for this Oz visa if you are directing, producing or taking some other part (other than being a performer), in a film,TV, radio, concert or recorded production to be performed or shown in Australia. You will need to be sponsored by an Australian person or organisation.

Non-Commercial Productions
If you are performing in one or more cultural or educational entertainment engagements for non-commercial purposes in Australia you will need this visa. You will also need to be sponsored by an Australian person or organisation.

Country to Country Agreements
You may be eligible for this Australian Temporary Visa if you intend to enter Australia under an agreement between Australia and another country. Under this category you will not need to be sponsored and a union consultation will not be required. In order to be eligible:
  • Immigration must be satisfied that your visa application meets the requirements of the country to country agreement;
  • You must provide evidence that your stay in Australia has been agreed to by the relevant authorities in Australia and the other country.
