The Business Skills Category in Australia aims to encourage people with a successful record of business or investment activity to settle in Australia and develop new or existing business opportunities in Australia. The Australian Business Visa Program is available for successful investors, business owners and senior executives.

Under the business skills category, you will usually be given an initial 4-year provisional visa and after you have demonstrated a satisfactory level of business or investment activity, you may apply for permanent residence.

To be eligible for an Australia Investor Visa under the State/Territory Sponsored Investor (Provisional) & Investor Provisional Category for will need to provide evidence of:

• 3 years experience or direct involvement in managing one or more qualifying businesses or eligible investments;
• Sufficient funds to transfer to Australia to conduct or establish a business in Australia;
• Evidence of sufficient funds for the 2 financial years before the application is made;
• Evidence of recent ownership interest of 10% of the total value of the business or direct involvement in managing funds (amounts vary with visa category);
• A high level of management skill in relation to an eligible investment or qualifying business activity;
• A designated investment to treasury will be required on the visa decision.
