Am I eligible for a Canadian Working Holiday Visa?
AustraliansYou will be eligible for a Canadian Working Holiday Visa if:
- You hold an Australian passport valid for the entire length of your intended stay in Canada. If your passport expires within 36 months you must state on the photocopy of your passport that you intend to leave Canada before it expires and sign the copy to confirm this.
- You are aged between 18 and 30 (inclusive) at the time of your Canada work visa application.
- You have not previously been issued and used a Letter of Introduction for the working holiday programme Canada.
- You can provide an Australian mailing address, even if you're not currently in Australia.
- You will not have dependents travelling to Canada with you.
Register now for your Canadian Working Holiday Visa
DurationOnce issued your "Letter of Introduction" you will have up to 12 months to enter Canada. You will then be entitled to work and travel in Canada for up to 12 months from this date of entry. You will be able to enter and re-enter Canada as many times as you like for the duration of your visa.
Financial RequirementsYou must be able to provide evidence of access to at least CN$4000 when you enter Canada.
Employment ConditionsThere are no restrictions on the type of employment you can undertake while on your working holiday visa in Canada but if you want to take up medical or education-based employment you will be required to have a medical examination.
