Answers
Do I need a job offer to get an Irish Green Card Visa?
Yes, to receive a Green Card Permit you must have a job offer from a bona-fide company registered with the Companies Registration Office and the Revenue Commissioners in Ireland. The company must be trading in Ireland.

The job offer must be on company-headed paper, dated within the previous sixty days, and the offer must be for a period of two or more years. It must specify the following:

  • A full description of the proposed employment
  • Starting date of employment
  • Annual salary, not including bonuses
  • Information on required qualifications, skills or experience required for the employment.

Contact us on Irishgreencard@visafirst.com for more information.

Is there a minimum salary threshold?
Green Cards are not normally issued for positions with an annual salary of below €30,000. All positions with an annual salary of €60,000 or more are eligible for the Irish Green Card. There are limited occupations that allow for a salary of between €30,000 and €59,999. Click here to see a list of those occupations.

How long is a Green Card Ireland valid for?
The Green Card is issued for an initial period of two years, after which it can normally be renewed indefinitely.

As an employee, can I move employer after I get a Green Card?
If this is your first employment permit in Ireland then (other than in exceptional circumstances) you are expected to stay with your initial employer for a period of 12 months. After this you may move to another employer, provided that a new application for a Green Card Permit is made.

What do I do once my Green Card is issued?
Once you are issued an Ireland Green Card, where necessary, you should obtain an entry visa from your local Irish Embassy/Consulate.

Yes, once your spouse/dependents are legally resident in Ireland on the basis of being your spouse or dependant, they are free to seek employment and apply for a Spousal/Dependant Work Permit.
