Schengen Visa

To be eligible for a Schengen Visa to Portugal you must meet the following criteria:

• You must not have an existing valid Schengen Visa issued by another country in the Schengen Agreement
• Your passport must be valid for more than 3 months longer than the planned duration of your trip
• You must provide documentation to support your Schengen application including evidence of funds and evidence of your intention to leave before your Portugal Visa expires, for example a return or onward ticket
• You must be currently living in the UK with a valid work permit or student visa

Who needs a Portuguese Schengen Visa?

Almost all non-EU nationalities except Australia, New Zealand, Canada, South Korea and Japan will need a Schengen Visa.

If you are from one of the following countries you will need to apply at the embassy in person: Afghanistan, Albania, Algeria, Bahrain, Burundi, Colombia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Korea (north), Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Nigeria, Oman, Palestine, Pakistan, Philippines, Qatar, Rwada, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Tunisia, Taiwan.

Nationals from the following countries do not require a visa to enter the Schengen area:

EU Countries; Andorra, Argentina, Australia, Bermuda, Bolivia, Brazil, Brunei, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, El Salvador, Estonia, Guatemala, Honduras, Hong Kong (Blue Passports Only), Hungary, Iceland, Israel, Japan, Korea (Rep Of), Latvia, Lichtenstein, Lithuania, Macau, Malaysia, Malta, Mexico, Monaco, New Zealand, Norway, Panama, Paraguay, Poland, Romania, San Marino, Singapore, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Switzerland, Uruguay, USA, Vatican City and Venezuela.

Duration

With a Portuguese Schengen Visa you will be able to visit the country for up to three months. The visa can be issued for either single, double or multiple entry.
