There are no age restrictions. Under the original Tier-1 category you only gain points if you are under 34 years old but if you are applying for an extension, the available points for age differ depending on whether your previous grant of leave was under Tier 1 (General) or the Highly Skilled Migrant Programme (HSMP).
You will be awarded points according to your:
- Qualifications;
- Earning power;
- Age;
- UK experience;
You will need to provide:
All the required documents should be originals that are relevant and directly appropriate to the particular criterion. If the documents are issued in another language they should be translated by a certified translator recognised by the British High Commission or Embassy.
- Your current passport and those of your dependants applying with you;
- UK Visa application form completed and signed by you;
- Application charge;
- Documents showing your qualifications;
- Documents showing your relevant work experience: the position held should demonstrate either graduate, senior or specialist level experience;
- Documents showing your earning power;
- Documents showing your English skills level.

No. If you are making an application under the extension requirements of the UK Tier-1 (General) Visa you are not eligible to claim points under the MBA transitional arrangements.

I have been working in the UK for 4 years and my visa is about to expire, can I apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain?
No, the minimum requirement for Indefinite Leave to Remain is now 5 years. You should apply for Further Leave to Remain, which is normally granted for 3 years. You can then apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain as soon as you reach the 5-year qualifying period.
