Recent statistics released by the New Zealand Government shows that there is a sharp increase in the number of student visa applications. The largest contributors for the increase are mainly Asian and Middle Eastern countries. The reason for the increase is the liberalization of the New Zealand student visa policies that presently allow temporary visa holders to learn short-term courses without having to apply for a student visa. Furthermore many international students elect to study in New Zealand, because it is relatively easily to obtain visa in comparison with other English-speaking countries such as USA or United Kingdom. Other reason for the attractiveness of New Zealand is the friendly atmosphere that the country offers. Asian students who go to New Zealand find accommodation relatively easily. Asian Food is widely available in New Zealand as well. Therefore students will not encounter any significant difficulties during their stay in New Zealand.
