Yes, you need to apply with your original passport.

You need to prepare the following documents for the application:

• Original passport that has a validity not less than six months
• Visa Application Form.
• Two Passport Size photographs.
• A self addressed envelop- special delivery is required.

The Tanzanian tourist visa is issued only for leisure and recreational purposes.
