IRISH chefs, brickies and tilers will find it easier to migrate to Australia due to government changes, a top visa provider has said.

From next month they can all apply for the skilled migrant visa.

VisaFirst manager Edwina Shanahan said: “There is still huge demand from Irish wanting to move to Australia to work.

“Luckily for them there are lots of skills shortages throughout the country.”

Trade Minister Andrew Robb welcomed news about chefs, bricklayers and tilers being added to the list.

He said: “This is because of an increase in demand for these occupations as well as a decrease in apprenticeship completions”.
