The E-3 visa is is created for Australian professionals to work in specialty occupations in the U.S. It has many advantages over the other types of working visas, including the ability for spouses of E-3 visa recipients to apply for work authorization.
A specialty occupation is one that requires relevant work experience and a bachelor's degree, or its equivalent, as a minimum for entry into the occupation in the U.S for this US working visa.
The E-3 visa is multiple-entry, so provided you don't change employers or make any changes to your immigration status, you may travel outside the U.S. and re-enter on a valid, unexpired E-3 visa.
E-3 visa holders' spouses are entitled to work in the United States and may apply for an Employment Authorization Document through U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service. Such spousal employment may be in a position other than a specialty occupation.
E3 Visa Requirements
You meet the requirements for this US working visa if:
- You need to have a job offer from an US employer before you can apply for the E-3 visa;
- Your nominated position qualifies as a specialty occupation employment;
- You have the required education and/or work experience;
- You may also be required to meet certain health and character requirements;
- You have the necessary license or other official permission to practice in the specialty occupation. In certain cases where such license or other official permission is not required to commence employment immediately, you must demonstrate that you will obtain such licensure or permission within a reasonable period of time following admission into the United States.
The maximum validity of this visa is 24 months. This two-year period is renewable indefinitely provided you are able to demonstrate that you do not intend to remain or work permanently in the United States.

Dear Management, I would like to take this opportunity to commend the service we have received during our Skilled Visa process with Visa First, but particularly on the hand delivered service by Amanda Carter. She has been nothing but helpful, informative, responsive and professional. In all our dealings with her she has always taken the time to answer our questions and queries fully and promptly. She has a very friendly and positive attitude making the whole process a positive experience. I think employees and people like her deserve a thank you and more importantly recognition. Hard work, thoroughness and ability are part and parcel of her way of dealing with her clients. Thank you, Laura Magan

Good Afternoon, I have just come of the phone with your operator Alan in Kilkenny. It is the first time ever I have come off the phone with a call centre Stress free. If all of your staff are a polite and helpful as this gent, you have in my opinion an excellent workforce. I as of yet do not know if your company can be of assistance, but if you can I will without hesitation be on the phone. I would like to commend you on a customer centre based in Ireland, and the excellent quality of service offered.
Hi Ross, Thank you for the wonderful news! I was thinking that this could be taking a little bit longer time. It will be no problem with the entry, I am returning at the end of July. Thank you for the great work, and I look forward to future collaboration with VISAFIRST.
I had applied for my Irish Green Card through you guys and finally I got the permit from India. There were a few hassles with the Irish Embassy in India where they kept asking for my P60, Bank statements, etc. but Brian, my manager intervened and got it sorted through visafirst.com. Many thanks to you both for taking my application and processing it.
